    McCaffrey Leaving Field

If you were hoping for Christian McCaffrey to come back and send your bubble fantasy team to the playoffs you got some bad news Sunday night. If you are anything like me, McCaffrey’s slide after injuring his knee was a shot to the gut after you chose him #1 in September.

CMC suffered a PCL sprain which will land him on IR effectively ending his 2024 campaign in what can only be described as an abysmal season for him and the 49ers so far. San Francisco has been plagued by injuries all year and Sunday was just another hit as not only McCaffrey but RB Jordan Mason was also placed on IR for an ankle injury.

With both of their top running backs injured, the 49ers now look to rookie Isaac Guerendo to tote the rack for a minimum 4 games. Guerendo has seen some playing time this year including week 6 where he rushed for 99 yards and week 8 rushing for 85 yards and a touchdown while hauling in 3 receptions for 17 yards.

While the team will likely be at the bottom of the Banged Up Scores for the remainder of the season, Guerendo has the chance to make a name for himself and if your fantasy team is in need of a running back he may just be the spark you need.
