Justin Jefferson Flexes

Vikings top wide receiver and arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL has secured a 4 year, $140 million dollar extension with $110 million guaranteed and $88.743 million due at signing. This makes Jefferson not only the highest paid wide receiver but also the highest paid non-quarterback in NFL history.

The extension comes after Jefferson chose to play last season without signing a new deal that supposedly would have paid him an average of $28 million per year. This new deal will average $35 million per year putting just above 49ers Nick Bosa.

Jefferson has amassed over 1000 yards receiving in all four years of his pro career despite only playing 10 games last season due to a severe hamstring injury and mild chest contusion. In 2022 he netted a cool 1809 yards receiving landing him the offensive player of the year hardware.

The agreement resets the entire wide receiver market as other big names look to come to terms, including Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, CeeDee Lamb and Brandon Aiyuk. They will certainly look for bigger payouts when negotiating. This could mean longer hold-outs or even moves if their teams aren’t looking to pay-up.

For now, Jefferson has his bag and will now set his sights on the 2025 season. With this behind them, Vikings fans still have one big question left to answer…who will be throwing him the ball?
