Injuries have seemed to be a big problem every year in the NFL, and Week 15 was no different. Multiple big named players got injured and may not be able to make a return this season.
Patrick Mahomes
Patrick Mahomes suffered a high ankle sprain against the Browns on Sunday, and was unable to finish the game. He is questionable for his game against the Houston Texans on Saturday.
Mahomes struggled in Cleveland, completing just 50% of his passes for 159 yards and two touchdowns. On the season, Mahomes is completing 66.7% of his passes for 3,348 yards, 22 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He has the Chiefs sitting on top of the NFL with a 13-1 record, and an AFC West crown. Despite all their success, the Chiefs are still in a fight for the bye week with the Buffalo Bills, so that may be the catalyst in Mahomes getting back to action as soon as possible. If Mahomes is not ready for Saturday, it will be a tall task to ask Carson Wentz to go into Houston and beat a tough Texans side.
David Montgomery
David Montgomery suffered a torn MCL against the Bills Sunday afternoon and will miss the remainder of the season. This is a devastating loss for Detroit, who despite still being a great side, is decimated by injuries.
Now confirmed: Lions HC Dan Campbell said RB David Montgomery will undergo season-ending knee surgery. “We're going to miss him,” Campbell told reporters.

Montgomery has been great this season, and been a power back assisting Jahmyr Gibbs all season. On the year, Montgomery has accumulated 775 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns while also catching 36 passes for 341 yards. Without him, Gibbs will be asked to do almost all the heavy lifting in the backfield. Gibbs won't mind this, however, and will look to add on to his great season. Gibbs has just surpassed the 1,000 yard mark, while rushing for 11 touchdowns and adding another three touchdowns on 395 receiving yards. We will see if the Lions run game continues to be a force without Montgomery, but they look like they are in good hands with Gibbs for the rest of the season.
Alvin Kamara
Alvin Kamara left the game early on Sunday with a groin injury and was never able to make a return in a close loss to the Washington Commanders. He will be listed as questionable going forward.
Kamara himself has had a very productive season, and will likely get his chance to continue going for his 1,000 yard season. He currently sits at 950 yards and six touchdowns on the season, but also has 543 receiving yards this year. If Kamara were to miss time, Kendre Miller would likely step in as the top back. Miller is in his second season, but has not seen much real time while sitting behind Kamara. The Saints are very unlikely to make the playoffs, so they will not rush Kamara back if it would lead to a long term problem.
Nick Chubb
Nick Chubb suffered a broken foot against the Chiefs on Sunday, and will not be able to make a return on the season.

Chubb just returned from a devastating knee injury last season, and was just back a couple weeks before breaking his foot in Week 15. The Browns have had a very underwhelming season, and this just adds to that disappointment. Sitting at 3-11 and seemingly nothing going right, the Browns just have to hope that Chubb can make another comeback like he did last year into this one.
