    Stefon Diggs Tears ACL

Wide receiver Stefon Diggs first season with the Texans is now officially over.

Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans announced on Tuesday that Diggs had been diagnosed with a torn ACL. Diggs left Sunday's contest against the Colts with a non-contact knee injury and went for further tests over the last couple of days.

Diggs, 30,  joined the Texans this offseason after being traded by the Bills for a 2025 second-round pick. He then reworked his contract so that he would become a free agent after this season was over. Now, he will look towards his next contact after coming off of a severe knee injury.

This is a bad time for an injury to the Texans' receiving core, as WR1 Nico Collins is already on the IR dealing with a hamstring injury. So now, a once star-studded wide receiving core is limited to Tank Dell, Robert Woods, John Metchie, and Xavier Hutchinson. With Collins out for at least one more week, the Texans will have to survive with this relatively thin wide-receiving core.

Diggs had 47 catches for 496 yards and three touchdowns in eight games this season. In his career, he has 857 catches for 10,491 yards and 71 total touchdowns. Diggs has been a top-ten wide receiver in the league for at least the past five years and will surely find a home next season, but the road to recovery will be tough for the veteran.
