Xavier Legette, the 32 pick in the NFL, exited yesterday’s practice with a foot issue. The receiver got an MRI that revealed no fractures in the foot, which is excellent news for the Panthers. However, Legette isn’t expected to play in this week’s preseason game against the Patriots. It sounds like the plan for the Panthers is to monitor Legette with caution and get him some play time in late August.

Xavier Legette was the 7th receiver drafted in this year’s NFL draft with the 32 pick. Legette had a breakout season with South Carolina last year, with 71 receptions for 1,255 yards and seven touchdowns. He won a multitude of awards, like the 2023-34 South Carolina Male Athlete of the Year and 2023 Second-Team All-SEC. Xavier is thrust into a young offseason and team with the Panthers, with star QB Byrce Young heading into his sophomore year campaign. Legette is a critical piece in this Carolina offense and will need to be healthy if the Panthers want to improve from their 2-15 season last year.
