George Kittle is staying in San Francisco — and making history in the process.
The 49ers have signed Kittle to a four-year, $76.4 million contract extension with $40 million guaranteed.
The extension makes Kittle the highest-paid tight end in NFL history, averaging $19.1 million per year — edging out Arizona’s Trey McBride.
Heading into his age-32 season, Kittle remains a centerpiece of the 49ers offense and a consistent presence in the league’s best tight end conversation. The six-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro has totaled 538 catches for 7,380 yards and 45 touchdowns over eight NFL seasons.
Kittle was at his best in 2024, catching a career-high 83% of his targets. His 78 receptions marked his most since 2019, while his 1,106 receiving yards were the second-most of his career. He also added eight touchdowns.
Kittle’s new deal ensures San Francisco keeps one of its most vital offensive weapons for years to come.
