Wins never come without a price and the Green Bay Packers experienced this Thursday night, beating the Washington Commanders 27-18 on Thursday Night Football but lost a key offensive weapon in the process. Wide receiver Jayden Reed is expected to miss six to eight weeks after suffering a broken collarbone on the first drive of the game on a touchdown catch that was called back.

Jayden Reed is a major vertical threat for the Packers but should be able to return according to our experts around the end of October. Thankfully for the Packers, their roster is loaded with wide receiver talent, especially after drafting former Texas wide receiver Matthew Golden in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Golden is known for his blistering speed, where he ran a record 4.29 40-yard dash at the combine. Although Reed was seen as one of the Packers premier pass catchers, Golden and Tucker Kraft, who had a career game last night with six receptions for 124 yards and a touchdown catch, should be enough to help out Jordan Love during Reed’s absence.
