The New York Jets will start veteran quarterback Tyrod Taylor against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday in Maryland, head coach Aaron Glenn announced on Wednesday.

Taylor replaces Justin Fields, who has started nine games this season, tallying 11 total touchdowns - 7 passing and four rushing - and has thrown a single interception. The Jets started the season 0-6 before taking down the Cincinnati Bengals and the Cleveland Browns in back-to-back games to give the Jets their only win of the season. However, after a 27-14 Week 11 Thursday night loss to the New England Patriots, Fields will get demoted to second string, as Taylor takes control of the team.

The six-foot-one, 217-pound veteran quarterback has appeared in three games this season and has thrown for 379 yards and three touchdowns, while tossing three interceptions. His only other start of the year came against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 3, when he threw for 197 yards and two touchdowns and an interception.

Taylor, 36, is one of just three players on the Jets roster who are 30 years or older, joining kicker Nick Folk, 41, and long snapper Thomas Hennessy, 31.
