Bengals’ star quarterback Joe Burrow returned to the practice field on Monday after receiving surgery on his left foot to repair a turf-toe injury on his left foot that he sustained in Week 2 earlier this season in the first half vs the Jacksonville Jaguars. With Burrow returning to the practice field, the 21-day window is now open for Burrow to practice in a limited capacity that will not count towards the Bengals’ active 53-man roster.

During this 21-day window, Burrow is eligible to be activated to the main roster but according to head coach Zac Taylor, Burrow will not be playing in Sunday's game against their division rival the Pittsburgh Steelers. Taylor also stated that his quarterback’s progress will continue to be evaluated each week. The Bengals would be silly to rush Burrow back after missing an extended amount of time given the injury history he has culminated in his five seasons in the NFL.
