Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. suffered a potentially season-ending knee injury in the middle of the third quarter of Sunday's 30-27 loss to the Carolina Panthers.

Before exiting the game, Penix completed 13 of 16 passes for 175 passing yards. Atlanta's backup quarterback, Kirk Cousins, entered the game to relieve Penix and completed six of 14 passes for 48 yards.
Cousins will be the starter for Atlanta in the near future.
