Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans suffered a broken clavicle on Monday night against the Detroit Lions and will miss most of the remainder of the season.
"He'll be out mostly toward the end of the year," head coach Todd Bowles said. "We'll see what happens."
Evans was carted to the locker room during Monday night's loss to the Lions after suffering a concussion on a deep ball that was nearly hauled in by the 32-year-old receiver.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport noted that a typical timeline for a return from a broken clavicle would be six to eight weeks, which could potentially lead to a December return. However, this means that Evans' career-long streak of 1,000-yard receiving campaigns will end in his 12th season in the league. This injury comes after missing the three previous games with a hamstring injury.
As of October 21, 2025, Evans has recorded a career loss of 14 receptions, 140 receiving yards, and a single touchdown through 3.5 games.
His 11-straight seasons with 1,000+ receiving yards tied an NFL record set by Jerry Rice for the most seasons with that mark, and set an NFL record to start a career at that mark.
Evans joins Chris Godwin Jr. on the sidelines as the Buccaneers continue to shift to a younger receiver corps, with veteran quarterback Baker Mayfield as the signal caller. Rookie wide receiver Emeka Egbuka leads the team in receiving yards (527), and fellow rookie receiver Tez Johnson has recorded a touchdown per game in his last two outings against Detroit and the San Francisco 49ers, and three consecutive games with 45+ receiving yards.
Tampa Bay will travel to New Orleans to take on the Saints on Sunday, October 26 at 4:05 pm ET.
