The San Francisco 49ers find another key player on the injury report after Sunday’s win over the Arizona Cardinals after star pass rusher Nick Bosa left the game at the end of the first quarter with what has now been confirmed as a torn ACL in his right knee. This is now Bosa’s second season-ending ACL injury of his career. His first came in 2020 in Week 2 against the New York Jets. Bosa was rushing Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray when he was double teamed and knocked to the ground with his knee bending in an awkward manner. Following the play Bosa hobbled off and then went to the blue medical tent where he was looked at for about five minutes. Following his visit to the medical tent, Bosa was seen stretching and doing leg exercises on the sideline before giving a thumbs up on his way to the Niners locker room where he was then ruled out for the rest of the game.

In the postgame press conference, Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan stated, “I haven’t seen Nick yet, I’m sure he’s concerned, they haven’t ruled it out yet [an ACL injury], there is concern because of how he feels”. Shanahan then added, “They did a test and stuff on the sideline and they usually say whether he definitely did [tear his ACL] or not and they didn’t say that but we are concerned”.

The 3-0 start to the Niners season has come with a cost each week after losing tight end George Kittle to hamstring injury and quarterback Brock Purdy with a toe injury in Week 1 and then losing wide receiver Jauan Jennings with a shoulder and ankle injury along with left guard Ben Bartch who also suffered an ankle injury in their Week 2 win. San Francisco continues to win tight games but pay the price on the injury report which seems like it will catch up to them record wise sooner rather than later.
