Ravens lock up Kyle Hamilton with $100M Extension, making him NFL’s highest-paid safety

The Ravens just made sure their most versatile defender isn’t going anywhere.

Baltimore has signed Kyle Hamilton to a four-year extension worth over $100 million, including $82 million guaranteed. At $25.1 million per year, the deal makes Hamilton the highest-paid safety in league history, passing Detroit’s Kerby Joseph.

“It’s crazy. It’s a dream come true,” Hamilton said Wednesday. “I think back to draft night… I knew I came to the right place. That’s how God works sometimes—you’ve got to see the bigger picture.”

Instead of waiting on his fifth-year option or future tags, the Ravens moved early, rewarding their 24-year-old star before the season. Hamilton pushed to get it done now, too, calling it a potential distraction if talks lingered.

A two-time Pro Bowler and first-team All-Pro in 2023, Hamilton has become the ultimate chess piece for Baltimore’s defense. In three seasons, he’s racked up 250 tackles, seven sacks, and five interceptions, lining up everywhere from deep safety to the slot to the box.

Simply put—he’s the keystone of the Ravens’ secondary. Wherever they need him, Hamilton makes it work. Now, he’ll keep doing it as the highest-paid safety the NFL has ever seen.
