With the combine kicking off tomorrow and the NFL offseason in full swing teams are back to focusing on building championship teams. As usual there are some big names that look to be locked down as well as a few teams willing to let stars go. We are looking at a new historic high at wide receiver, a QB that wants to stay in San Francisco and a top tier cornerback who may be in different colors next season.
Ja’Marr Chase
Chase and the Bengals couldn’t come to an agreement last off season which led to him missing training camp. A move that some felt cost the team a few games early due to rhythm between him and his longtime QB Joe Burrow. However, despite the missed time Chase put those grumblings to rest as he logged his best season yet, finishing the year with the coveted “triple crown” with the most receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns amongst all wide receivers in the NFL. This has prompted Bengals GM Duke Tobin’s plans to make Chase the highest paid non QB in the league. A statement that will undoubtably have all Cincinnati fans smiling.
The Bengals are ready to give Ja'Marr Chase $35M+ in AAV to vault him past Justin Jefferson as the highest paid non-quarterback in the NFL 💰

Tee Higgins
After discussing the massive pay day he plans to reward Chase with, Tobin also touched on the teams WR2 Tee Higgins. Stating "Whenever I'm in charge of a football team, I want Tee Higgins. So, I'm gonna do what I can to get Tee Higgins." This comes after some talk about other teams interest in Higgins and Tobin’s preference to get a long-term deal done to surround his franchise QB with the top talent he is familiar with.
Brock Purdy
General Manager John Lynch for the San Francisco 49ers told the media that the team has started negotiations with quarterback Brock Purdy on an extension. He publicly acknowledged that the plan is to make Purdy the QB for long time and that they are fully on board with getting this deal done early and not dragging out the negotiations. They know what they have and want to keep him there.

J’aire Alexander
The Green Bay Packers are open to trade talks for their two time all-pro cornerback. J’aire, who is considered one of the best corners when he is on the field has dealt with a lot of injuries over the past few seasons including a PCL repair last season. Though he is expected to be able to play when the upcoming season starts it seems as though the Packers are ready to move on if they can find a team willing to give them what they want.
Courtland Sutton
Denver Bronco wide out Courtland Sutton has one year left on his current contract but would much rather have a deal inked prior to this season starting. Both HC Sean Payton and GM George Paton want to get him that extension, but it does seem that those discussions haven’t began and there isn’t a timeline on when they will yet. At this moment, all reports point to the two sides finding a way to make it work but only time will tell.
