Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars rebounded in Week 3 with a victory over the Houston Texans, improving to 2-1 on the season. After some early-season miscues, the team showed it can still make big plays when it counts.

Top two takeaways from Jaguars' 17-10 win over Texans:

Hines-Allen and Walker dominate up front

Jacksonville’s defensive ends set the tone, combining for 11 of the team’s 20 pressures and each recording a sack. Their relentless play disrupted Houston quarterback CJ Stroud on a third of his dropbacks, limiting him to just 2.5 yards per attempt under pressure and contributing to a key interception. Hines-Allen also drew crucial penalties that don’t show up in the stat sheet.

Trevor Lawrence sparks a game-changing play

Brian Thomas Jr.’s 46-yard catch and run on the final scoring drive highlighted the Jaguars’ offensive potential.

The play began with Lawrence reading a blitz pre-snap, adjusting the protection, and delivering a perfect throw. It’s a sign that, even with early-season miscues, Lawrence and the offense can make critical plays when it matters most.

Despite mistakes, the Jaguars are learning on the fly while showing defensive dominance and clutch offensive execution.
