Top two takeaways from the Jets' 30-10 loss to the Bills

The New York Jets were outgained 403-154 in a poor offensive showing at home against the Buffalo Bills in Week 2.

Top two takeaways from the Jets' 30-10 loss to the Bills:

Justin Fields entered concussion protocol

Fields entered the locker room in the fourth quarter and did not return to the game.

He threw for a total of three completions for 27 yards and was sacked twice for 19 yards before exiting the game.

He led the Jets in rushing yards wth 49 yards on five carries, but outside of using his legs, New York’s offense was stagnant against Buffalo.

Veteran quarterback Tyrod Taylor replaced Fields in the fourth quarter and immediately matched Fields' production, going 3-for-3 for 26 yards while also being sacked twice for 10 yards.

He finished the game completing 7-of-11 passes for 56 yards and threw a touchdown to tight end Jeremy Ruckert.

While Taylor seemed to be more accurate, the bigger issue was the Jets' offensive line being unable to contain the Bills' rush.

Punter Austin McNamara is a bright spot

McNamara was the only positive from the Jets' blowout loss to the Bills.

He was forced to punt seven times, the most this season, where he placed three inside of 20 yards, for just one touchback and a long of 55 yards. He averaged 48.6 yards per kick, and the Bills only had four returns for a total of 22 yards.

While New York’s offense was nonexistent, and its defense was unable to contain James Cook, McNamara made sure that he put the Jets in the best possible position he could.
