The Buffalo Bills have released wide receiver Curtis Samuel as part of their efforts to create salary-cap space before the new league year begins, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Samuel’s release will save Buffalo about $6 million against the cap. The move comes just one day after the Bills acquired wide receiver DJ Moore in a trade, bringing in the former Carolina Panthers standout and reshaping the team’s receiving corps.

Samuel spent the past two seasons with Buffalo but struggled to make a consistent impact due to injuries. Over 20 regular-season games with the Bills, he totaled 38 receptions for 334 yards and two touchdowns, while adding 14 rushing yards on five carries.

The 29-year-old entered Buffalo with expectations of providing versatility and playmaking ability in the offense, but availability proved to be a challenge throughout his tenure.

With Moore now in the fold and the Bills looking to reshape their roster ahead of free agency, the team opted to move on from Samuel as part of broader offseason adjustments.
