Free-agent cornerback Dee Alford is set to join the Buffalo Bills on a three-year contract worth up to $21 million, sources told ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. The deal includes $10.12 million guaranteed.

Alford, 28, comes off a breakout 2025 season. After losing his nickel corner job in training camp to rookie Billy Bowman Jr., he became a key utility player in the Falcons’ secondary. He filled in for injured starters A.J. Terrell Jr. and Mike Hughes, then took over for Bowman late in the season after the rookie suffered a torn Achilles.

In 2025, Alford reached career highs with three interceptions, 13 passes defended, two sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery, starting seven games in Jeff Ulbrich’s revamped defensive scheme. By comparison, he had started 11 games in 2023 with no interceptions and 11 passes defended. Across his NFL career, Alford has started 23 games over four seasons.

A Mississippi native who grew up in Griffin, Georgia, Alford signed with Atlanta in 2022 after two seasons in the CFL with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, including a start during their 2021 Grey Cup-winning season. He went undrafted out of Division II Tusculum.
