The Arizona Cardinals have finalized their coordinator structure under new head coach Mike LaFleur, retaining defensive coordinator Nick Rallis and hiring Michael Ghobrial as special teams coordinator.
Rallis, 32, will remain in charge of the defense after serving in the role since 2023. He originally joined Arizona under former head coach Jonathan Gannon following two seasons working as a linebackers coach with the Philadelphia Eagles. Despite being hit hard by injuries in 2025, the Cardinals opted for continuity on that side of the ball. Arizona’s defense struggled last season, ranking 27th in total yards allowed (357.7 per game) and 29th in points allowed (28.7 per game).
Ghobrial’s addition reunites him with LaFleur after the two previously worked together with the New York Jets. He now takes over Arizona’s special teams unit as part of LaFleur’s first assembled staff.
The moves complete LaFleur’s coordinator trio, alongside newly hired offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, as he prepares for his first season leading the Cardinals.
