Green Bay has solidified its leadership at the top, officially extending the contracts of head coach Matt LaFleur, general manager Brian Gutekunst, and executive vice president/director of football operations Russ Ball.

The team confirmed the extensions on Friday, a follow-up to reports from NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero that indicated the trio would be retained long-term. Packers president and CEO Ed Policy praised the group, highlighting their collaboration, passion, and dedication as central to the organization’s goal of competing for championships.

LaFleur has led the Packers since 2019, compiling a 76-40-1 regular-season record and consistently fielding top-10 scoring offenses. Gutekunst, who began with Green Bay as a scout in 1999, rose to general manager in 2018, and Ball, a longtime executive in the front office, also earned his current title in 2018. Together, the three have overseen six playoff appearances, including two trips to the NFC Championship Game, though they are still seeking a breakthrough postseason run, holding a 3-6 playoff record overall.

Despite a disappointing finish to the 2025 season, which saw the Packers blow an 18-point halftime lead and fall to the Chicago Bears in the Wild Card Round, the organization is committed to continuity. Green Bay made a bold move last year by trading for All-Pro pass rusher Micah Parsons, a player whose presence, alongside other stars, is expected to help the team contend for a Super Bowl once fully healthy.

The extensions underscore the Packers’ desire to maintain stability in both coaching and front-office leadership. With LaFleur, Gutekunst, and Ball at the helm, Green Bay is aiming to capitalize on its current roster, continue building around its star players, and push toward the championship window that ownership and fans have long awaited.
