The Philadelphia Eagles are adding help to their secondary, agreeing to sign former Seattle Seahawks cornerback Tariq Woolen to a one-year contract, NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe reported. According to NFL Network Insider Mike Garafolo, the deal can be worth up to $15 million.
Woolen, who ranked No. 34 on analyst Gregg Rosenthal’s list of the top 101 free agents, spent the first four seasons of his career in Seattle. His tenure with the Seahawks featured highs and lows — highlighted by a Pro Bowl selection during his rookie season — before he finished his time with the franchise as part of a Super Bowl–winning team.
Across four seasons, Woolen recorded 12 interceptions, 203 tackles, five fumble recoveries and 53 passes defended, showcasing the ball-hawking ability that made him one of the league’s most intriguing young defensive backs early in his career.
The signing marks Philadelphia’s first addition from outside the organization in free agency this offseason, as the Eagles continue shaping their roster heading into the new league year.
