A late-season surge wasn’t enough to save Atlanta Falcons head coach Raheem Morris or general manager Terry Fontenot.

The Falcons announced Sunday night that both Morris and Fontenot have been relieved of their duties following an 8-9 2025 campaign. Morris finished 16-18 over two seasons, while Fontenot went 37-48 in five years, failing to lead the team to a single playoff berth.

“While I have great personal respect for Raheem and Terry and appreciate their dedication to the Falcons, I believe it is time for new leadership in these roles,” Falcons owner Arthur Blank said in a statement. “This was not an easy decision, but the results on the field have not met the expectations of our fans or our organization. I wish Raheem and Terry the absolute best in their future endeavors.”

NFL Network insiders Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero, and Mike Garafolo were the first to report the firings.

Blank also announced organizational changes Monday. Falcons president Greg Beadles will be elevated to president and CEO, while Rich McKay will take on an expanded role within the organization. Atlanta plans to hire a new president of football operations from outside the team, with former MVP Matt Ryan reportedly emerging as a top candidate, according to Rapoport and Pelissero.
