The news comes after the Ravens were eliminated from playoff contention after a haunting 26-24 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. With a chance to win the game in the final moments - down two after Steelers' kicker Chris Boswell missed an extra point - Ravens kicker Tyler Loop missed the uprights wide right, and Baltimore's season came to a dramatic, heartbreaking close.
In his 18 years in Baltimore, Harbaugh recorded a record of 180-113, including a 13-11 postseason record. The highlight of his time with the Ravens was capturing the 2012 Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers.
However, Baltimore has failed to return to the big dance since, despite reaching the 2023 conference championship game. The Ravens' 2025 season breaks a three-year playoff streak - the second longest of his career (2008-2012).
Despite quarterback Lamar Jackson missing time with a back injury this season, Baltimore's organization chose to move in a different direction for leadership.
If Harbaugh chooses to continue coaching, the Las Vegas Raiders, Arizona Cardinals, New York Giants, Atlanta Falcons, Cleveland Browns and Tennessee Titans all have vacant head coaching positions
