The Houston Texans have rewarded one of their top performers from 2025, agreeing to a three-year, $37.5 million contract with guard Ed Ingram, including $23.5 million guaranteed, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday.

Ingram, a former second-round pick, struggled during his first three seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, allowing 129 pressures in 48 games, which ultimately led to his trade to Houston last year. In Texas, however, he showed significant improvement, emerging as the Texans’ best run blocker. While still inconsistent in pass protection, Ingram proved far more reliable than his Minnesota tenure suggested.

The deal, which averages $12.5 million per year, ties Ingram with the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Patrick Mekari for 20th among NFL guards in annual salary.

Houston’s offensive line has been in flux this offseason. The team traded right tackle Tytus Howard to Cleveland for a fifth-round pick and packaged Juice Scruggs in a trade for running back David Montgomery. Veteran offensive tackle Trent Brown and Ingram were kept off the free-agent market, signaling general manager Nick Caserio’s commitment to revamping one of the NFL’s lowest-ranked lines.

With Ingram now secured, the Texans can focus on building consistency along the line as they aim to improve in 2026.
