Los Angeles Lakers C Anthony Davis and Boston Celtics G Derrick White earned Player of the Week honors for Week 22 in their respective conferences.
Leading the West, Davis led Los Angeles to a 3-0 record in Week 22, averaging 27 PPG, 16.7 RPG, and shooting 68.8% from the field. The Lakers defeated the Hawks, 76ers, and Pacers to hold their No. 9 seed in the Western Conference, which would earn them a spot in the NBA play-in tournament as long as they dont drop below the No. 10 seed.
In the East, the Celtics also finished Week 22 undefeated with a 4-0 record, where White averaged 20.3 PPG, 6.5 RPG, and 8.8 APG through those four games. The Celtics defeated the Pistons twice while also capturing victories over the Bucks and the Bulls. Boston still holds the No. 1 seed in the East, which would guarantee them a playoff appearance and bypass the play-in tournament.
This is the first time Davis or White has been awarded Player of the Week this season.
