GG Jackson II to Undergo Surgery

Memphis Grizzles' F GG Jackson II will be re-evaluated in three months after a successful surgery earlier today. Last year's second-round pick broke a fifth metatarsal in his right foot and is expected to miss at least the first month of the NBA season. Jackson got injured a few days ago while playing a pickup game near Dallas sometime last week.

The 19-year-old forward had a solid rookie campaign, averaging 14.6 PPG, 4.1 RPG, and 1.2 APG in his 48 games played. Jackson played a substantial role for the Grizzlies last season due to an injury-riddled roster. But over his final 20 games, Jackson averaged 19.0 PPG, 4.9 RPG, and 2.0 APG while playing an average of 32.9 minutes per game. With the roster returning to full health for this year's campaign, it is unclear what Jackson's role will be on the team for the upcoming season.

With an uncertain spot in the lineup and at least a month of the season Jackson will be missing, fans will have to wait and see what role he will play in the 2025 season. A promising young prospect, set to make a full recovery, Jackson might play a pivotal part in this young Grizzlies team's future.
