Dallas Mavericks guard Luca Doncic and New York Knicks guard Jalen Bruson were named Kia NBA Players of the Month in March for their respective conferences.
Doncic led the West, averaging a triple-double, recording 32.5 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 10.1 assists in 15 games in March. In those 15 games, Doncic and the Mavericks won 11 games and have gained control over the No. 5 seed in the West, guaranteeing a playoff appearance for Dallas.
This is not the first time Doncic has won Player of the Month after receiving the award just a month prior in February. He joins Boston Celtics guard Jayson Tatum as the only two players to win the award twice in a single season.
Representing the East, Brunson delivered 28.8 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 5.8 assists a game to help move the Knicks to No. 4. Brunson added to his career month by scoring a career-high 61 points in a 130-126 loss to the San Antonio Spurs on March 29.
Brunson and Doncic were former teammates in Dallas for four seasons, earning bids to the playoff in three of them and even reaching the Western Conference Final in 2022, where they lost to the Golden State Warriors in five games.
Both players and their respective teams are battling for a playoff appearance in each of their conferences, and with 12 days left in the regular season, expect Doncic and Brunson to continue their spectacular runs.
