Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic and Atlanta Hawks earned Player of the Week honors for Week 22 in their respective conferences.
West: Luka Doncic
Doncic led the Mavericks to a 4-0 record in Week 23, averaging 32.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 9.5 assists in those four wins. Dallas’ four wins in Week 23 add to their seven-game win streak, allowing them to jump to the No. 5 seed in the West, passing the Pelicans via tiebreaker, with both teams sharking a 45-29 record. This is Doncic’s fourth Player of the Week award this season, earning the honor in weeks eight, 16, and 20.
East: Dejounte Murray
Murray carried the Hawks to a 3-1 record in the 23rd week, recording 28.3, 10.3 assists, and 5.8 rebounds a game to receive his first Player of the Week award in 2024. The Hawks guard also scored a career-high 44 points in a 123-122 OT win against the No. 1 seeded Celtics in Week 23, including the game-winner at the buzzer. While Atlanta is 5.5 games ahead of Brooklyn in the race for the play-in tournament in the East, the Hawks' 3-1 record has kept them in the No. 10 seeds, which would award them a play-in bid after the regular season. If the standings in the East hold, Atlanta would take on Chicago in the tournament's first round.
