Following the Minnesota Timberwolves' sweep of the Phoenix Suns in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs, the Phoenix Suns have dismissed their head coach, Frank Vogel, and are looking to hire their third head coach in three years.

Expectations were high for Phoenix’s postseason chances after the Suns traded for former Washington Wizard Bradley Beal, who would join All-Stars Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, who both averaged 27.1 points per game, holding the No. 5 and No. 6 positions in the league, scoring.
Phoenix finished the regular season with a 49-33 record, one win away from reaching a 50-win season; however, with the Western Conference being so competitive, the Suns could only reach the No. 6 seed in the playoffs.
While Vogel showed promise, winning a championship with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020, he was unable to lead the Suns past the first round, and because of that, the Suns are moving forward in a different direction as head coach.
