The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Phoneix Suns 122-116 on Sunday, April 26, to complete the four-game sweep against superstars Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, and Bradley Beal and become the first team to advance to the conference semi-finals.
Minnesota guard Anthony Edwards scored a team-high 40 points to help lead the Timberwolves to victory and tacked on nine rebounds and six assists. Not only did his scoring help the Timberwolves capture Game 4, but his explosive plays to give Minnesota momentum were crucial, including a monster slam over the Suns 6’11” superstar, Kevin Durant.

Edwards averaged 31 points, nine rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game in the first round of the Western Conference Playoffs while being guarded by one of his idols, Kevin Durant. Durant recorded 33 points, nine assists, and five rebounds in Game 4, but it was not enough to stop the Anthony Edwards show. Postgame, after Game 4, Durant has high praise for the young Timberwolves guard.

Suns guard Devin Booker scored a game-high 49 points, combining with his counterpart, Durant, for 82 of the Suns' 116 points, while the rest of the starting lineup did not score double-digits. Since losing to the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA Finals in 2021, the Suns have yet to advance past the Western Conference Semi-finals, leaving fans to wonder if there is too much star power on the Suns roster between Booker, Durant, and Beal.
The Minnesota Timberwolves will face the winner of the No. 2 Denver Nuggets vs. the No. 7 Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference Semi-finals. The Nuggets lead the series 3-1 and play Game 5 against the Lakers on Monday, April 29, at 10:00 EST. They hope to capture their fourth win and advance to the next round of the playoffs.
