Young is a crucial part of Atlanta's offense, averaging 26.4 points, 10.8 assists, and 2.7 rebounds a game in the 51 games Young played this season. In his absence, guard Dejounte Murray stepped up, earning player of the week in Week 23, a career-high 44 points, and a game-winner over the No. 1 team in the NBA, the Boston Celtics. This season, Murray has recorded 22.4 points, 6.4 assists, and 5.3 rebounds a game, a career-high in points.
Despite the loss of Young, Atlanta has been able to hold their No.10 seed in the East, securing them a play-in appearance, where they will most likely take on the No. 9 Chicago Bulls. The Hawks look to snap their two-game losing streak when they take on the Miami Heat in Atlanta at 7:30 p.m. tonight.
